Peterson SFB Outdoor Recreation
Outdoor Recreation at Peterson Space Force Base offers a wide range of adventure and leisure activities designed to provide the base community with exciting and memorable experiences.
Services include guided trips for whitewater rafting, hiking, and rock climbing, as well as equipment rentals for camping, kayaking, and skiing. The program caters to all skill levels, from beginners to seasoned outdoor enthusiasts, and promotes a healthy, active lifestyle.
With knowledgeable staff and well-maintained equipment, Outdoor Rec ensures safe and enjoyable experiences for all participants. Regularly scheduled events and workshops further enhance community engagement and outdoor skills development, making it a cornerstone of recreational life at Peterson SFB.

Community Garden at Peterson SFB
Get your hands in the dirt and grow your own fresh produce or flowers in the Community Garden. Whether you’re an experienced gardener or just starting out, this is your opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and cultivate something special.
Garden Plot Rentals
- Sign-up Begins: April 1, 2025, at Outdoor Recreation (Bldg. 640)
- Multiple Plot Rentals Open: April 15, 2025
- Location: Behind Airman’s Attic on Selfridge Street, across from the Youth Center
- Plot Size: 4′ x 8′
- Rental Fee: $35 per plot (April 1 – October 31, 2025)

- Water spigots and hoses
- Pull carts and compost tumbler
- Shared tool shed

Garden tool kits can be rented through Outdoor Recreation.

Update on R4R Program Funding for 2025
Due to Air Force-level budgetary cuts, the Recharge for Resiliency (R4R) program will not be available for partial funding of our ODR programs in 2025. While we are unable to offer R4R funding, we’re excited to continue providing you with amazing trips and opportunities for adventure going forward!
