Reserve a Park on Base

Only two of our on-base parks – Captain David Lyon Memorial Park (located on the southwest corner of Peterson Blvd. and Ent Ave.)  and Peak View Park (located opposite  the Base Exchange & Commissary) – fall under the supervision of The Hub Community Center.

CAPTAIN DAVID LYON MEMORIAL PARK
Capt David Lyon Memorial Park, formerly Eagle Park, offers a playground, picnic tables, grills, horseshoe pits, electricity, restrooms and parking. 

Park rules:
Park hours are from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Clean up your area.
No smoking in the base parks.
No dogs allowed in the park area, unless it’s a designated service dog.  Dogs must be on a leash at all times on the base trails; dogs may run freely in the designated dog park (Garden of the Dogs) on base.
Approved motor vehicles only.
Use only approved parking area.
Grills may be turned on for official functions ONLY.
Large canopies require a dig permit.

Making Reservations:
The pavilion and surrounding area are available for reservation on a first-come, first-served basis. We accept reservations for the period February 1 – October 31, weather permitting.

Serving or Consuming Alcohol:

Alcohol consumption within squadron or unit government facilities is permitted for Airmen, Guardians, and their adult guests for unofficial functions (birthdays, celebrations, social gatherings, etc.).  With the Commander’s approval, any group wishing to serve alcohol at their function must first complete the Dram Shop Training. To receive the training, please go to https://afservices.geniussis.com/.

 

Once complete, you will be required to fill out a 21FSS Alcohol Request Template Package and submit to the 21st FSS ([email protected]) no later than 21 business days prior to your event.

PEAK VIEW PARK
Conveniently located across from the Base Exchange, this new park offers an unobstructed view of Pikes Peak. On a clear day you can see well beyond the USAF Academy to the north and to the lone Spanish Peaks to the south. Awesome view!

What We Offer:
Peak View Park offers a 9-hole Frisbee golf course, sand volleyball court, playground, picnic tables, grills, horseshoe pits, electricity, restrooms and parking. 

Note that no dogs (leashed or unleashed, unless it’s a designated service dog), food or beverages are permitted on the course. No smoking is permitted on the course either.

Restrooms are available at the Base Exchange/Commissary.

OTHER PARKS ON BASE

PATRIOT PARK – Located on the north side of the RP Lee Youth Center, Bldg. 1555, Patriot Park is managed by the YC staff.  For information about reserving Patriot Park, please call the Youth Center at 719-556-7220.
